Galghamar was established in 2016 to manage activities and services
which I (Þröstur Guðmundsson) offer in the field of engineering, project
management, contracting, dispute resolution along with training and teaching.

I have a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from University of Nottingham, England, 1996, M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from University of Colorado in 1992 and a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Iceland in 1989.

I have an ML degree in law from University of Reykjavik, 2018, with an emphasis on the law of arbitration, dispute resolution, contractor law, contracting and mediation.

​

I am a certified Senior Project Manager (IPMA Level B) by the  International Project Management Association since 2003.

​

I have an extensive experience in engineering management, project management in large international projects and and establishment and implementation of project management systems. I have dedicated considerable time on process mapping of industrial, project management and business process with the aim of improved transparency and efficiency. I have been also been a university sessional teacher for nearly two decades.
